West Indies vs Uganda Commentary

3:41 AM IST Over the last two months, franchise cricket has seriously questioned the bowlers. Seeing 200-plus scores almost every next day was demoralising for the bowlers but come the biggest stage, the T20I World Cup and the same bowlers are winning you games. This was how the game used to roll, it's just the viewers who are not getting the same dopamine hit they were getting recently. That is all from this game! All eyes are on the biggest clash of the tournament. It's time for India vs Pakistan. Join us later in the day at 8 pm IST (2.30 pm GMT). You can join us early for the build-up as well. Till then, goodbye and cheers!
3:40 AM IST The skipper of the West Indies, Rovman Powell says that in the last game, they were a little bit flat and wanted to improve as a team. Feels that as a home team, pressure can get the better of you but it was good to see guys getting performances under their belt. Lauds Akeal Hosein for his bowling effort and credits him for bowling stump-to-stump. Tells that they will continue to play good cricket and improve as they face tough teams from now. Ends by saying that whenever West Indies play in Guyana, the support is fantastic and thanks the crowd for their support.
3:37 AM IST Brian Masaba, the skipper of Uganda says it was tough day, they were outplayed and outclassed by West Indies. Tells they need to learn from this game, as a batting unit what could have they done better. Shares they bowled well in the death, even to keep West Indies under 200 was a positive sign. Reckons they need to play against opposition like West Indies to improve, this are good lessons to get forward. Ends by appreciating the support they are getting no matter what the results.
3:26 AM IST Akeal Hosein is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for a spectacular five-wicket haul. He says that he needed this performance. Adds that the ball was coming out of his hand nicely but did not get the reward in the last couple of series. Further says that he needed to stay calm and a lot of hard work has gone in. Feels that the way the game is going, it is important to stay one step ahead. Shares that he tries to react to what the surfaces are doing and likes to plan his over. Ends by saying that he is happy to bowl wherever his team needs him to.
3:25 AM IST ...Presenation...
3:25 AM IST Uganda were off to a disastrous start to the chase as Akeal Hosein got West Indies off to a dream start. A wicket on his second ball but that was just a tipping point of what Hosein was cooking. His skill and the angle he creates along with the swing and what conditions had to offer, pulled altogether produced one of the best bowling spells you will ever see. Akeal Hosein finished with the figures of 4-0-11-5. The other Windies bowlers chipped in as well but Akeal Hosein, boy, he was simply superb. Uganda, from the highs of winnings against PNG to facing a morale-losing defeat against two-times World T20 Champions.
3:21 AM IST To be honest, West Indies won the match during the toss, batting first was the best decision on a slow, low staying pitch. West Indies struggled to get going, their openers were finding it hard to middle the ball but the Windies power right through their line-up allowed them to stay on track and get a score around 160-170. All the batters chipped in with some valuable contributions. The Ugandan bowlers though executed their plans, they were tight throughout the innings and there were very few occassion where they missed the lines. However, the last over went for 18 runs and it just shifted the momentum towards the home team.
3:19 AM IST Ruthless! Absolute dominance from the West Indies. A landslide victory for the home team. It was not West Indies vs Uganda but Akeal Hosein vs Uganda in the second half of the game. A career-best figures for the left-arm spinners has helped West Indies win by a massive margin of 134 runs. It is also the best bowling figures for any West Indian bowler. A night to remember for Akeal Hosein, a spell to remember for the ages! Uganda on the other hand have equaled the lowest total in Men's T20I World Cup.

Charges in from over the wicket and attacks the off pole, on a good length, Frank Nsubuga opts to stay leg side of the ball and tries to cover the line of the ball as he looks to defend it out. Ends up playing inside the line of the ball as it zips through to beat the outside edge and pegs the off-pole back. Uganda have been rolled over for 39, the joint-lowest total for a team in the history of Men's T20 World Cups. West Indies win by 134 runs and make it two wins out of two.
