He directed many successful movies like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and My Name is Khan. The movie, Raazi was produced by him which won the Filmfare Award for Best Film. He is the owner of Dharma Productions. He has hosted many seasons of Koffee with Karan. He has judged the reality shows Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and India’s Got Talent.
