Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday urged residents of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) to join India, saying they are considered "our own" unlike in Pakistan, where they are treated as “foreigners.” During an election rally in the Ramban constituency of Jammu and Kashmir, Rajnath Singh appealed to the people to support the BJP to bring about further development in J&K, suggesting that this progress would be so evident that the people of PoK would prefer to join India. A local Samajwadi Party (SP) leader in Uttar Pradesh's Mau district has been booked for allegedly raping an 18-year-old woman several times, PTI reported, citing the police. The leader, Virendra Pal, is also accused of threatening to kill the woman. Police said that Pal, who is also an advocate, raped the woman for almost a year. He is currently absconding, and efforts are on to nab him. In her complaint to the police, the woman claimed she used to assist the Samajwadi Party leader in legal work. Dig Deeper
