WPL 2024

22 matchesFeb 23 - Mar 17

Get ready for another thrilling season of women's T20 as the Women's Premier League returns on February 23 with five franchises sporting revamped squads after a captivating auction last December. A hefty 12.75 crore was splashed on 30 talented players, with uncapped Kashvee Gautam making history as the most expensive buy – at Rs2 crore – for Gujarat Giants. Australian stars Phoebe Litchfield and Annabel Sutherland also fetched impressive bids, joining Litchfield at Giants for Rs1 crore and finding a home with Delhi Capitals for the same price, respectively.

The Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and UP Warriorz are back to compete for the title in WPL Season 2. They will participate in 22 games, including the eliminator and the final, which will be held across Bengaluru and Delhi over a period of 20 days. The league is actively engaged in promoting itself to attract a broader audience and to celebrate women's cricket. Season 2 of the WPL aims to further enhance the status of women's cricket in India and globally by providing a platform for female players to showcase their skills, attract lucrative sponsorships, and inspire the next generation of cricketers.
